Who We Are

We help our clients move their real property and water rights, entitlements, interests, and goals forward.  Whether the matter involves water rights, land use, environmental compliance, or related business and real estate transactions, we provide both transactional and litigation expertise to position our clients for success.  Our clients range from private property owners to vineyards, energy companies, farmers, irrigation and water districts, municipalities, and other public agencies. Our water practice is statewide: from the Klamath River to the Mojave Desert, and just about everywhere in between.  Our business and real estate practice is focused on serving our local clients in the North Bay Area. The firm is also dedicated to environmental conservation, and regularly provides pro bono and reduced fee services on land and water conservation transactions.

Vincent Goble

Vincent joined the firm in 2024, and, in addition to his legal skills, he brings his background as a farmer.  He practices real property law, including such subsets thereof as water law, land use, compliance with environmental regulations, and real estate and business transactions involving real property rights, such as agreements concerning easements, lot lines, purchases and sales, and leases.

While at the firm, Vincent has worked extensively with groundwater sustainability agencies, irrigation districts, and farmers to achieve compliance with the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) and to navigate hearings involving SGMA before the State Water Resources Control Board.  Vincent’s work at the firm also involves assisting private landowners and public agencies to comply with California Department of Fish and Wildlife permitting (such as lake and streambed alteration agreements) and to protect adjudicated water rights in watersheds across the State.

Immediately prior to joining the firm, Vincent practiced at an all-purpose law firm in Santa Rosa, California as part of its real estate transactions, business transactions, and land use practice group.  While there, he helped entrepreneurs form business entities and comply with the Corporate Transparency Act and state and local land use regulations.  He also advised water districts and homeowner associations concerning enforcement of governing documents.

Vincent brings public sector insights from his time in the Santa Rosa City Attorney’s Office practicing with its land use, water, and contracts practice groups primarily representing the Planning and Economic Development Department and the Water Department.  While there, he assisted Santa Rosa in tracking the amendment to the Sonoma County Well Ordinance and reaching resolutions concerning conditions of approval for development projects, easement disputes, contractor agreements, and an amendment to Santa Rosa’s rent control ordinance.

While a law student, Vincent externed at the California Supreme Court in the chambers of Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye where he made recommendations concerning petitions for review, provided legal research and analysis for draft opinions, and edited the fifth edition of the California Style Manual.

Vincent earned a Juris Doctorate magna cum laude from the University of San Francisco School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara.  He is a former member of the McAuliffe Honor Society and the University of San Francisco Law Review.  He is a member of the California and Sonoma County Bar Associations.

Prior to his legal practice, Vincent farmed in western Sonoma County purveying food to local restaurants and community members.  He still lives there now while raising his two children
